Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Caillerets, Blain Gagnard

Note:

(opened from personal storage). A ripe yet reasonably fresh and still relatively primary nose features notes of spiced pear, apple compote, floral and citrus aromas. There is fine richness and volume to the unusually full-bodied flavours that exhibit a touch less minerality than usual yet there is impressive persistence on the lingering finish that really fans out as it sits on the palate. While this could already be enjoyed with pleasure, I would be inclined to continue to cellar it for a few more years first as there seems to be at least some untapped development potential.
