Le Musigny, Joseph Drouhin

Note:

The initial hints of bricking are present on the color. The moderately reticent nose reveals seriously lovely complexity and the barest hints of maturing fruit but otherwise it remains entirely primary with terrific spice and earth notes that merge into detailed and pure middle weight flavours that exude class and grace. As one would expect, the finish remains firmly but not aggressively structured and this is a wine that will require a minimum of another 5 years in bottle and it wouldn`t surprise me if 10 were required to really see this wine at its ultimate peak. Multiple, and consistent, notes save for one bottle that seemed very advanced on the nose with noticeably finishing dryness.
