Gevrey-Chambertin, La Perriere, Hubert Lignier

Note:

An earthy and moderately somber nose features mostly notes of various red berries along with hints of underbrush and humus. There is good punch and detail to the lightly mineral-inflected flavours that exhibit a distinct edginess on the otherwise saline and lingering if slightly clipped finish. Most people will likely find the level of acidity too much for their liking as it imparts a distinct austerity and as such I would be disinclined to age this for very long.
