Chambolle-Musigny, Dominique Laurent

Note:

From vines planted in 1902. Ripe, slightly musky aroma of black fruits and menthol. Sweet, thick and dense, but quite oaky today. Finishes long and expressive, but I pick up a lot of evidence of oak tannins. Laurent says this wine went into new barrel rather late, and it possible that the new oak component has not yet been absorbed. Hard to judge today.
