The Trouble With Dreams, Sugrue South Downs

Note:

Five years after this incredible vintage, the 2018 “Trouble” is a classic: it displays all the qualities of the excellent growing season – effortless ripeness, balance and poise – and the typical characteristics of this now firmly established wine style: precision, purity, drive and freshness, and a focussed textural balance achieved by fermentation in large, old Burgundian barrels (in this case 500 L barrels).
The 2018 vintage is made from 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir from predominantly Jenkyn Place Vineyard, with some from Mount Harry and Storrington Priory. Floral and expressive, the wine was disgorged in early January 2023, so it has now benefitted from several months on cork and will continue to age perfectly. The dosage is just 6g/L, with only 5,200 bottles produced.
