Saumur Champigny Franc de Pied, Roches Neuves

Note:

Glorious, sensual, seductive nose and palate, completely consistent with each other.  The blood orange, dark cherry, plum and mulberry fruit fruit is silky, textural and utterly lovely.  Overlaid with delicate hints of liquorice, undergrowth, mint.  Finishes long, clean and pure with a repeat of the sweet blood-orange-mulberry note and just the barest hint of vanilla pod.  This is gorgeous, silky, refined, elegant, sensual.  Not the biggest or heftiest, but really ravishingly pretty.  Can be drunk now with enormous pleasure, but knowing Rhys history for wines that age well, it’ll probably go ten years without problem.  A beauty.
