Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Hauts Doix, Robert Groffier Pere et Fils

Note:

(the malo finishes three weeks before my visit; vinified with one-third whole clusters): Good full red-ruby. Wild, musky aromas of black raspberry, black cherry, licorice, roasted herbs and roast coffee. Concentrated, thick and very ripe, with Baker`s chocolate and mocha notes currently overwhelming the wine`s fruit. No shortage of acidity or tannins here but a bit heavy today and in an awkward stage. (By the way, the Groffiers` Passetougrains displayed excellent sucrosite and a lot of early personality, and appears to be one of the best vintages to date for this entry-level bottling.
