Savennieres Les Genets, Damien Laureau

Note:

Bottled in late December 2017, the 2015 Savennieres Les Genets is from sandy soils covering gray schist. Fermented and aged in 400 liter barrels (three to 10 years old), this is a quite lactic flavoured Chenin sourced predominantly from two plots north of Savennieres. Fermented until May (including the malolactic), this is a full bodied, elegant and well structured Chenin with power, concentration, grip and vitality. The finish is quite salty and the tannins are a bit biting, but there is tension and minerality, which guarantees good aging in the bottle.
