Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru, Humbert Frères

Note:

Deep ruby-red. Very ripe but not at all roasted on the nose, offering sappy aromas of crushed black cherry, boysenberry and violet. Full, sweet and very ripe but a bit monolithic–even brutal–after the Estournelles, hiding more than it`s showing today. Finishes with substantial dusty, mouthcoating tannins that will require patience. I find this wine tough going, but I would not be at all surprised if it merited a higher score ten years from now.
