Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos des Issarts, Faiveley

Note:

Good bright, dark red. Reduced, rather wild aromas of cherry and mocha. Sweet and thick but a bit youthfully tart owing to firm acidity. Densely packed but disjointed today, with saline soil tones dominating the middle palate. Tannins are nicely ripe though. In a reductive phase and hard to assess with accuracy.
