Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr Riesling Spatlese, Auction #14, Haag (Fritz)

Note:

This auctioned Spätlese originates as usual with largely ungrafted vines in the Falkenberg sector. An effusive nose is dominated by nearly overripe Persian melon, pear and quince preserves, garlanded in honeysuckle and lily. The floral perfume liquefies on a lusciously fruity, glossy, feather light palate. Despite its tendency toward confitured fruit and its prominent sweetness, the finish here is remarkably transparent to wet stone underpinnings and musters an unexpected generosity of fresh fruit juiciness to ensure genuine refreshment.
