Abbazia di Rosazzo, Livio Felluga

Note:

I hesitated over the score because the Livio Felluga wines are just ‘different’ and I loved them all.  If we must be absolute about it – and I know that the human brain likes absolute, this probably IS a fraction ‘better’ than the Illivio. But more than that, it is different.  It is deeper, more intense – the extra years of bottle age has imparted an additional depth and weight.  It is less ‘unobtrusive’ and more of a statement.  The flavour profile is not ‘completely different’ – but there is more salinity, more honey, more weight, more stoney-ness.  It’s more serious, but no less delicious. It’s a full, detailed illustration, not a beautiful, delicately observed sketch.  A bit more ‘regal’.
