Corton Clos du Roi Grand Cru, de Montille

A ripe and brooding nose that is intensely sauvage in character also grudgingly displays an array of various dark berries cut with plenty of floral influence. This is a markedly muscular wine with excellent size, weight and an almost pungent minerality adding lift to the concentrated broad-shouldered flavors that culminate in an extract-rich, balanced and hugely long finish. This is an impressive old school Corton that is notably firm but not particularly austere.
