Beaune, Clos du Roi, 1er Cru, Tollot-Beaut
Note:
An intensely earthy nose yet the character of the fresh earth is subtly different from that displayed by the bevy of Savigny examples and having less of an iron and mineral component. The rich, sweet and rounded flavors are quite supple and forward, indeed almost easy yet with good depth on the generous finish. This is very Beaune and quite stylish in its fashion and despite being quite accessible now, it has sufficient stuffing to age over the short to medium term.
