Clos de la Roche Grand Cru, Marchand-Tawse
Note:
Ripe yet airy and fresh aromas of plum, purple fruit, spice and warm earth are trimmed in just enough wood to notice. The palate impression of the larger-scaled flavors is at once supple but with good tension that carries over to the powerful, muscular, dusty, youthfully austere and solidly persistent finish. This firmly structured effort will need at least 7 to 8 years of bottle age first and should amply reward 15+.
