Côte-Rôtie, Les Rochins, Cote Rotie, Garon

Note:

Moving to the 2011s, all of which were in bottle at the time of this tasting, the 2011 Cote Rotie Les Rochins is again the star of the lineup. Coming from the southern part of the appellation, where the wines generally show more refinement and elegance (painting with a broad brush here), it offers a deep, rich and thrillingly textured profile, with cassis, vanilla, smoked meat and fruitcake-like aromas and flavors all emerging from the glass. Silky, pure and elegant, it-s a top-notch effort that should be given 2-3 years of bottle age, and consumed over the following decade or more.
