Mazis Chambertin, Dugat-Py

Note:

Even at 20 years of age, this is dark to the point of being opaque. A ripe yet still agreeably fresh, spicy and earthy nose reflects plenty of sauvage character. The big, bold, robust and impressively dense broad-shouldered flavors coat the palate with sap with delivering excellent length on the balanced finish that is shaped by a very firm core of tannins. This borderline rustic effort is still years away from its peak though the concentration of the mid-palate still allows it to be approached now with more than a little interest. With that said, it`s abundantly clear that this is will be a long-distance runner. I would note that another bottle wasn`t quite as well-balanced as there was a touch of backend dryness.
