Chapelle Chambertin Grand Cru Domaine Ponsot

Note:

Rose-Marie explained that they had been feeling that this cuvée was usually a little bit below the standard of their other grands crus, so a tweak was in order. They were looking to make the wine more feminine (her words), so decided on a longer cuvaison but with less extraction and lower temperatures. Chapelle-Chambertin was the first major red to be picked and the last to be sent to barrel. This has certainly a fine and elegant bouquet, a pretty mid purple, kicks on really well behind, good acid balance more than tannins, very persistent. Tasted Nov 2018.
