Clos de la Roche Grand Cru, Maison Roche de Bellene
Note:
This opens with a subtle but not invisible touch of reduction and even with air it stubbornly hangs around. It`s not especially strong and it`s still possible to appreciate other aspects of the aromas including notes of earth, spice and dark fruit but it does detract from the overall appeal. Otherwise there is good richness and volume if only moderate concentration to the velvety middle weight flavors that deliver good but not special depth and length. This is relatively forward compared to a more classic rendition of Clos de la Roche and one that should drink well after only a few years of bottle age.
