Clos St Denis Grand Cru Heresztyn-Mazzini

Located next to the Ponsot winery. 100% whole bunch, 50% new wood. Fine deep crimson-purple. The hedonism of Clos St-Denis is a little bit tamed by the whole bunches which add a thread of structure running all through the middle. Will that dissipate and let the wine express itself fully? I think so, but not straight away. There is no faulting the fruit concentration, and the tightly wound structure at the back holds good promise for the future. Very nicely balanced. Tasted Nov 2020.
