Clos de la Roche, Coquard Loison-Fleurot

The 2016 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru has a harmonious and detailed bouquet: redcurrant, cranberry and wild strawberry aromas with an underlying mineralité. It feels very controlled at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin. This is one of the most pliant Clos de la Roche 2016s that I have tasted, fleshy and caressing in texture, almost streamlined towards the finish that boasts impressive mineral tension and a persistent aftertaste. What an exciting proposition from this Gilly based producer that has burst onto the scene. Tasted blind at the 2016 Burgfest tasting. Drink 2022-2045.
